After months of speculation, the full sized trailer for Paul Rudd’s ‘Ant Man’ movie aired during the two part premiere of Agent Carter in the US.

Focusing on the 2nd Ant Man, Scott Lang (played by Paul Rudd), the story is apparently a heist film. With the original Ant Man, Hank Pym (played by Michael Douglas) mentoring Lang, who is using the shrinking suit for an unknown purpose.

Also starring Evangeline Lilly as Pym’s daughter, Hope Van Dyne, the film showcases the absurd nature of the premise, with Lang asking to change the name, and not quite taking things seriously at the start.

Later shots seem to show the ant mode; taking on a more neon look, with ants acting as helicopters and escape tools for Lang, and possibly Pym in flashback scenes.

The film was originally conceived by Edgar Wright back in 2010, but he left before filming began, due to creative differences. The role was then filled by Anchorman helm, Peyton Reed. who has taken the film to a darker tone, opposed to Wrights lighter, more comedic film, that was co-written by long time collaborator Joe Cornish.

The film will hit cinemas July 17th 2015.
