Disney World Florida: The Magic Kingdom
Welcome to Disney World Florida! We shall be beginning our adventure with the most iconic theme park of the Disney Franchise… The Magic Kingdom!!!
Constructed of six different ‘lands’:
- Tomorrow land
- Frontier land
- Fantasy land
- Adventure Land
- Main Street USA
- Liberty Square
Each land has a different theme which encompasses rides, entertainment and various characters.
There are some rides which are generally more popular than others and you will need to get to them early or book a fastpass for to avoid long queues.
- Big Thunder Mountain
- Space Mountain
- Splash Mountain
- Buzz Lightyear
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
- Pirates Of The Caribbean
- Jungle Cruise
- The Haunted Mansion
- Peter Pan’s Flight
As mentioned above, FastPass+ are Disney’s queue cutting system which allows you to pre-book an hour long time slot where you can go to your selected ride and enter using the fast track queue. By booking this you effectively bypass long queue times. The system has recently changed from the previous physical ticket system to the new e-ticket system which is registered to your park entry card.
These e-tickets allow you to book your rides 2 weeks in advance of actually going to the park meaning you don’t have to worry about it on the day! Just be sure to keep a note of which ride you need to be at and when (remember- you can only have 3 FastPass+ booked per day but can book another once you’ve used them all).
It is worth mentioning that all Disney Parks have free WiFi which means you can access the MyDisneyApp which will keep you updated on all the ride wait times.
Opening times change seasonally so it’s worth checking this out in advance, especially if oyu want to get there early to see the little opening show before the park opens and get onto rides with virtually no wait time.
Timetables are available at the entrance as well as park maps in a variety of different languages – this way you can check on parade times and firework shows. You will also be able to meet a whole host of different characters out and about around the park. Most popular being the princesses who have designated greeting areas; these can build up a significant wait time of their own (for example to see the latest princesses Anna and Elsa the wait time can be around 200 minutes).
So there you have the basic information for The Magic Kingdom, next up we’ll be looking at the Animal Kingdom, so keep checking back! If you have any questions please leave a comment. 🙂
