Batman V Superman footage shown at SDCC
Zach Snyder shows the first footage from the upcoming sequel, alongside new set pictures.
Kicking off Saturday’s Warner Brothers panel at San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) was producer / director Zach Snyder, onstage to reveal our very first look at Gal Gaddot in full Wonder Woman garb, another look at the earlier released headshot of “Bat-fleck”, and a brief teaser shown.
Sporting the classic red and gold armour and with sword in hand, Gal Gaddot (from the Fast and Furious series) is seen standing atop a smashed up road, with a smoking city behind her. Is this a war-torn Themyscira, or Gotham in peril?
A headshot of Ben Affleck’s cowl was also released earlier this week. Reminiscent of Frank Miller’s Dark Knight Returns, this cowl seems to have the shorter ears and a cloth like look. Throw in Ben Affleck’s famous chin, and you have an iconic looking Batman/Bruce Wayne.
A short teaser was also shown at the panel, upon a huge wrap-around screen in Hall H. It starts with Affleck’s Batman pulling back a tarp, revealing the bat signal, and then lighting up a flying, red-eyed Superman, played again by Henry Cavill. This culminates in the staring contest to end all staring contests, panning to show a white eyed Batman. The screen then cuts to black to show the film’s logo and title.
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is set to release on May 6th 2016, and with this year being the 75th anniversary of Batman, we should see more information and related media trickle out throughout the year.
