BBC Releases New Doctor Who Series Trailer

Last night the long-awaited full trailer for the newest series of BBC’s popular sci-fi series Doctor Who went live, much to the delight of thousands of fans across the globe.

A fan myself, I have been impatiently waiting for a trailer longer than the previous “teaser” type, which was a whopping 16 seconds in length, quite disappointing, and completely blown out of the water by a fan-made trailer. Luckily the latest trailer is one minute and five seconds, and gives an interesting – if brief – look at our Doctor’s regeneration.

Some familiar faces are shown in the trailer, including a host of Daleks (can you call those eyestalks faces?) and the previous Doctor’s friend the illustrious Silurian Madam Vastra. Add what appears to be a dinosaur rampaging through London, the TARDIS console in a state of explosion, and voice-overs that seem to imply that this will be a darker incarnation of the Timelord, and we are left with a tantalising glimpse of what we have to look forward to.

I don’t know about you, dear readers, but I am more than a little excited about the upcoming series, and about Peter Capaldi’s take on my favourite alien meddler. What do you think about the trailer? Drop a message in the comments and let me know!
